Pediatrics

The aim of the Pediatric Health and Diseases clinics at Tekden Kayseri Hospital is primarily to protect the health of our children. For this purpose, healthy child follow-up and vaccination are carried out in pediatric clinics. The physical and mental health of infants, children, and adolescents is monitored by pediatricians from birth onwards. Age-appropriate vaccines are planned and administered. In healthy child follow-ups, height, weight, nutritional status are monitored, and their appropriate development is assessed.

Pediatric Health and Diseases Unit All children and adolescents from birth to 18 years old are followed and treated in pediatric clinics. The pediatric health and diseases unit has several sub-branches, including:

Pediatric Allergy: Pediatric allergy specialists deal with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases such as urticaria, hay fever, asthma, and food and drug allergies.

Pediatric Chest Diseases: Specialists in this field diagnose and treat both congenital and acquired lung diseases. Diseases such as bronchitis, bronchiolitis, cystic fibrosis, and asthma fall within the scope of these experts.

Pediatric Endocrinology: For a healthy body, the secretion of hormones from the body must be in balance. When hormone balance is disrupted, various diseases arise. Thyroid diseases, diabetes, short stature, early and late puberty, and obesity are examples of diseases monitored by pediatric endocrinologists.

Pediatric Cardiology: Pediatric cardiologists deal with the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart diseases, hypertension, and acquired heart diseases.

Pediatric Nephrology: Pediatric nephrologists diagnose and treat kidney diseases that occur in children.

Pediatric Neurology: Cerebral palsy, epilepsy, muscle diseases, and any pediatric diseases related to nerves are dealt with by these specialists.

Pediatric Hematology and Oncology: This department treats many diseases originating from blood cells, such as genetic anemias, hemolytic anemias, blood cancers, and lymphomas.

Pediatric Gastroenterology: Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of liver, stomach, and intestinal diseases in children. Examples of diseases followed by this department include ulcers, gastritis, chronic abdominal pain, and liver and pancreas diseases.

Neonatal Intensive Care: Intensive care is provided for diseases requiring intensive care in newborns, such as respiratory distress and serious infections. For all diseases in children, the first healthcare professional to consult is a pediatrician. The pediatrician listens to the patient, conducts examinations, interprets necessary tests, and if necessary, seeks consultation from a subspecialist.
